　北米時間の2011年10月5日(水曜日)、スティーブ・ジョブズ氏が死去した。米Apple, Inc. のCEOを8月に退任したばかりだった。1955年2月24日 生まれ。56歳だった。同社から声明が出され、apple.comには氏の 肖像が掲載されている。

　WashingtonPost氏の記事にはApple社からのコメントとして、このようなテキストが寄せられている。「Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.」。また、Apple.comサイトにはこのようなメッセージが掲載されており、コメント募集の呼び掛けとメールアドレスが公開されている。

“Steve Jobs1955-2011
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being.
Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend.
and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built,

蛇足：僕はこう思ったッス
読者の殆どが悲しみに包まれていると思う。僕自身もApple Computerにより人生が変わった。Jobs復帰のキャンペーンThink Differentの中で「変わりものが人類を前進させた。世界を変えた」という一節を思いだす 。ありがとう、Steve。
